The Congressional Research Service is a government office which produces research at the request of members of Congress. The CRS recently completed Medical Marijuana: Review and Analysis of Federal and State Policies.

This report provides an excellent and objective history of the criminalization of marijuana, and the efforts to reschedule and decriminalize medical marijuana.
